About Angelina Rosa: Born in Mexico, Rosa began training there with her Godfather, Georg Rauch, an Austrian painter who called Mexico home for 30 years. Rosa received her formal education in Montreal, where she studied painting and drawing at the Visual Arts Centre and Concordia University. Within the stimulating city, Rosa received a Jeunes Voluntaires painting grant, was a member of a artist studio collective, Le Corrid’art, exhibited in both group and solo shows and painted commissioned works including murals.
Rosa began merging visual art with film at the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema where she received the James Shack Award for Excellence in Film-making and her BA in Fine Arts. Rosa is currently working on a film about her mother - model, actress, storyteller Dorian Kohl - an extract of film plus still photographs from this project are featured in the Mother(load) exhibition.
