Searching for Home, Lynette Schlichting - June 22 - July 6 2016

Picture
This show centres around “Home.” Not our physical home, the structures we reside in, but our spiritual, sacred home. The place we create inside ourselves that is safe; that speaks from ability and strength. In her work, she explores the idea of shattered and broken inside the safe confines of 'the box of home.'

Our pop-up gallery, which is in the Art House next to the gallery, has been transformed into a space that makes a visitor feel both welcome and like an intruder. Lynette has used light and physical elements, such as glass, soil, and metal, to create a whole world. Within the show, each piece draws you in and demonstrates different, miniature representations of 'home.'

"When the paint is wet and the colours are transforming that is when the painting is most alive for me,  the transformation of colour brings me to the "crossing point", the centering experience, the present moment.. "
