I Think, therefore, I am - panel discussion

Moral Panic, Whisper Campaigns & Wicked Problems

Artist Talk and Panel Discussion

Using the title I think therefore I am for an artist talk about political issues seems fitting for an exhibition titled Moral Panic, Whisper Campaigns & Wicked Problems. The phrase, coined by philosopher René Descartes, delves into the nature of existence and consciousness. When applied to a discussion about political issues, it highlights the importance of individual perspectives, critical thinking, and the role of personal agency in shaping political discourse and action.

Art has long been a platform for exploring and challenging political ideas. Art invites the audience to consider the political themes depicted in the artwork and the broader implications for society and individual identity.

Join us at the Lake Country Art Gallery on Saturday, May 11th, from 1 to 3pm

This session presents a special opportunity to delve deeper into the themes of Moral Panic, Whisper Campaigns, and Wicked Problems, guided by our special guest, Dr. Norah Bowman. Dr. Norah Bowman is a college professor of Gender, Sexualities and Women's Studies at Okanagan College. She is an academic writer researching transnational feminist organizing in Central Europe and a poet. Her next book My Eyes are Fuses, will be published by Caitlin Press in fall 2024.
