He was worked for several art organizations here in the Okanagan, including the Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art, The Kelowna Art Gallery and the Arts Council of the Central Okanagan.
He is thrilled to return to the Lake Country Art Gallery for a series of art history lectures exploring different worlds in art. He invites you to escape the ordinary and explore the wonders of art.
The Unconscious Mind: Surrealist Art 1924-1940

Channel the unconscious as a means to unlock the power of the imagination and explore of one of the most important movements of the 20th century.
Influenced by Andre Breton, Sigmund Freud and Max Ernst, this lecture will look at themes, concepts and techniques manifested in surrealism.
This lecture will also examine the surrealists’ fascination with the Pacific North West and Latin America.

The European Renaissance saw the artist as a seeker of knowledge. Skilled in many fields, these artists were also scientists and inventors interested in philosophy and other aspects of intellectual life.
By looking at Leonardo da Vinci, Fra Angelico, and Albrecht Durer amongst others, we will explore the great social and cultural changes in 15th and 16th century Europe, including the development of perspective, humanism, and apprenticeship and patronage in art.

Join us for a rare presentation on Peruvian art.
Inspired by the traveling exhibit, Peru: Kingdom of the Sun and the Moon organized by the Montréal Museum of Fine Arts, this talk gives an overview of Peruvian culture. From pre-Columbian iconography to the masterpieces of the colonial era, discover the art that forms the national identity of Peru.
