These signature two day workshops will be offered every two months beginning in the spring of 2014. They will offer the community the highest calibre of art instruction available in the valley.
Applying to Teach a LCAG Signature Workshop in 2014
DEADLINE for all materials are to be delivered to the Lake Country Art Gallery in person or by mail, no later than JANUARY 15th
Professional artists are asked to submit a one page two day workshop on a technique, approach, art form of their choice. LCAG defines a professional artist as someone who has spent more than 5 years of concentrated time and effort on their craft.
- a challenging, innovative and focused curriculum that goes beyond only teaching technique and addresses some of the larger ideas and concepts about art making
- present a workshop that has not been taught anywhere else in the valley
- present a workshop customized to fit with the Lake Country Art Gallery’s mandate and operating values - included on the following page.
- ability to conduct / facilitate workshop at a level comparable with specialized intensives courses of study, such as undergraduate visual arts classes at a university or college level.
- one page synopsis of two day workshop, outlining what the workshop will cover and an overview of art making activities to take place
- a list of materials and supplies needed for the course, along with a supply budget.
Budget should address whether or not participants bringing their own materials, or are some, or all necessary materials included in the cost of the workshop? - one page bio / cv highlighting applicant’s qualifications and past work

Instructors for LCAG Signature workshops will be paid in accordance with CARFAC instructor fees for professional artists ($940 for two days)
Classes will start April and run once every 2 months.
Classes with insufficient registration will be cancelled
(minimum registration is 5 people)

The mandate of the Lake Country Art Gallery is to foster understanding, interest and enjoyment of art throughout the Lake Country community and the Okanagan region by offering a schedule of diverse exhibitions and public programming initiatives, for adults and youth, that showcase a range of art by established and emerging artists, as well as community members.

Public Programming: Create, facilitate and collaborate to create innovative, educational and accessible public programming in conjunction with our exhibitions, as well as stand alone events. Produce lectures, performances, classes and workshops that inspire, engage and appeal to a broad range of interests, age groups and skill levels; public programming is an integral part of any exhibition at the Lake Country Art Gallery.
