The Lake Country Art Gallery is pleased to present its annual Member’s Show from February 19th - March 21, 2014. Every year the Lake Country Art Gallery opens the doors of its gallery space to its members as a way to further support, engage and celebrate their artistic achievements. The Lake Country Art Gallery currently has a membership of about 150 individuals whose membership contributions help support gallery programming including the annual member’s show.

“We are really blessed by the strength of the support of our members and volunteers”, says Gallery Manager Petrina McNeill. “It’s really quite incredible that we have so many talented artists among our membership. Over the last two years, we’ve had an overwhelming response to our members’ show. We can’t wait to see what turns up this year.”

“Our members and volunteers give so much to the gallery. I am constantly amazed at all the endeavors our members are up to in and out of their studios”, says Curator Katie Brennan, “That they still have time support the gallery the way they do is outstanding”.

There is still time for artists to take advantage of this great exhibition opportunity. Each artist is invited to submit a recent artwork (made in 2012 / 2013 / 2014), that is no wider than 36” to the Lake Country Art Gallery no later than 4pm on Friday, February 14th. If artists are not yet members of the gallery, they can purchase a membership at the time of drop-off - only members can show in this exhibition. Further submission details are available at lakecountryartgallery.ca

Accompanying the Members’ Exhibition, will the Lake Country Art Gallery’s second installment of a pub styled Trivia Night, on Saturday March 1st, from 6 - 9pm. Entry is $10 per person. Bring or make a team, to join in the hilarity and brain teasers, as gallery curator Katie Brennan tests your team’s knowledge of art, culture and much more. Snacks and cash bar will be available. All funds go to support the Lake Country Art Gallery.

On Saturday, March 15th from 2 - 4:30pm, the gallery will be offering workshop with Lynda Miller on “How to Photograph Your Artwork”. This is a great workshop for any artist who wants to learn how to accurately photo document their work for submission to galleries, clients, websites, family and friends. The workshop is $25 for members, $30 for non-members. Participants are asked to bring their camera and a piece of artwork to photograph. Lake Country Art Gallery members with work in the Members’ Exhibition, are welcome to use their piece in the exhibition to photograph.
