Felting is an ancient art form that takes the elements of water, warmth and agitation to transform the raw material into fabric and form. As the main fibre is wool, not many examples have survived through time, but what has shows us the magic that is created when the different elements interact. Our workshop will explore the basics of the felting process with guided techniques to achieve textual and sculptural design elements. These techniques will be used around a 3D bowl form that the student will take home with them. Students will be encouraged to interact and make dramatic design decisions that will in turn stimulate your creative juices.
