2021 Artist's Alley
A collection of Banners created by local emerging artists
Welcome to the Artist’s Alley, a place where emerging artists have been given complete creative freedom and the ability to let their artistic brains run wild. This project has taken Summer’21 to arrange and we are finally able to reveal our brand-spankin-new alleyway banners for the entire community to enjoy!
Artists:
Adrianna Singleton, Angela Wood, Ari Sparks, Arianne Tubman, Arianna Tooke, Ashleigh Giffin, Breanne Wood,
Faith Wandler, Maura Tamez, Michaela Bridgemohan, Noah Macleod, Raine Simon, Sage Cannon, Violet Desiree, Zoe Simpson
“I wanted to give emerging local artists the ability to do whatever they wanted, no restraints or requirements. As emerging artists we are often asked to do work for others, whether it be for school, commissions etc. we have to do what we can to make a living. It is not very often that we are given a paid opportunity to create what we want with no boundaries other than the size of our canvas. This intention has come to life in our Alleyway located in between the Lake Country Art Gallery and ArtHouse. Reawakening the space and giving the community a chance to experience the next generation of artists within the Okanagan.”

2017 Rogues Alley (character paintings)
Two day Youth Festival: Local youth project to create and paint a large character portraits on canvas. Inspired by the Scott August exhibition Furbish: Remnant Themes of Post-Amusement with it's giant gofer billboard, local children and youth were invited to create larger than life characters of their own design to hang in the Art Alley for our first collection of Youth Banners in 2017. Mentor artists Brock Gratz, Jolene Mackie, Vana Evelyn Robertson, and Sharlene McNeill supported the work.
