Instruction includes colour theory, composition, blending techniques and instructor demonstrations of many special qualities unique to this medium which the students will then apply to their own paintings. Beginners are welcome. The goal will be to complete paintings during each class and several during the Saturday workshop. All new projects and all supplies are included.

On Saturday February 2nd, UBC Okanagan Art History student Laura Wylie will present a talk on the art historical and contemporary connections that the work of the artists in The Things I Bumped Into in the Dark touch on, embrace and work in opposition to.
On Wednesday, January 23rd at 7pm, two practicing artists and students of UBC Okanagan, Kelsie Balehowsky and Lucas Glenn, will lead a discussion about medium. The discussion will focus on the relevance of medium/discipline-based evaluation of art in art education, the market, and the art world. Artists and observers alike are invited to participate in the conversation.

Here’s how you can participate:
- attend the auction - tickets $10 per couple (includes the opportunity to bid on any item)
- donate a piece of art and receive a tax receipt for the agreed upon value, OR
- donate a piece of art and receive Event Money ** for the agreed upon value (to a maximum of $500)
- $20 fee for entering a piece of art into the exchange, this includes two tickets to the event
**Event money may only be used for purchasing works of art on the night of the event
SPECIAL FEATURE: A chance to bid on a rare, original watercolour painting by Gladys Goode, 35” X 27.5” (framed), generously donated by Jody Lafontaine.
All proceeds from the evening will go to support the Lake Country Art Gallery.

Aspen Grove will be serving a delicious tapas menu that will be available throughout the evening, servings of are limited, so book yours today. There will also be a cash bar available throughout the event.
There are two ways of enjoying food at Aspen Grove: book a dinner in their restaurant before the event starts at 6:00 PM or order any of the three tapas made specially for the night from the cash bar.
The entry cost is $10/couple ($5.00/single), which includes a chance to bid in the silent and live auction, raffle tickets for beautiful Christmas centrepieces and a brand new golf bag!
The silent auction will run throughout the night and the LIVE auction will be between 7:30 - 8:30 PM.
Entry tickets can be picked up at the gallery or at the door.
