WORKSHOP
Introduction to Printmaking: Stencils, Screenprints & Linocuts
Instructors: Heather Leier and Laura Widmer bring us a three-hour workshop in which you will have the opportunity to sample and combine several different printmaking techniques. Learn about printmaking’s versatility as you create your own stencils to use independently or in combination with a screenprint design that you will print onto fabric. Also try your hand at relief printing, the oldest form of printmaking still used by artists today as you carve and print an image from a piece of linoleum.
Most tools and supplies will be provided but please bring :
A craft knife with a fine-point blade (i.e. X-Acto knife with #11 blade)
A t-shirt or a pillowcase to print onto (100% cotton is best)
Drawings, photos or objects to use as image source material
An apron or smock to protect your clothing
3 hour workshop is $30/ $25 for Students & Gallery members
