Two workshops coming up for the gardener or plant lover.
PAINTING BOTANICALS in GOUACHE, with an introduction to process colour theory offered by Rena Warren. Saturday, May 28th from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. $75 includes all materials. Drawing an asset but not required. EXPLORATIONS IN NATURAL COLOUR: BUNDLE DYEING with textile artist Sharilyn Kuehnel. Discover natural dye methods using plant-based dyes. Saturday, June 18th 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. $120 includes your materials kit and participants go home with a naturally dyed scarf. To register for either of these workshops write to [email protected]
Paint with ARTHOUSE studio artist ANN WILLSIE
May 21 and 22, 2022 9:30 - 4:00 pm This workshop will focus on painting live flowers. Ann will be discussing blocking in big shapes, getting your values correct, and simplifying the painting process. We will be talking about how to choose background colors, how to paint the glass vases and how to arrange a floral composition that works. Day 1 will be indoor instruction and painting a still life composition. Day 2 will be painting irises in the studio garden (weather permitting). Ann paints in oils but all media is welcome. This class is suitable for all levels . $200 + GST for both days register by EMAIL  Join artist instructor Tina Siddiqui in guided practice with a focus on drawing, painting and mixed media. Participate in guided lessons or bring a project.
Open Studio Fridays takes place at Lake Country Art House from 11:20 – 2:30 April 8th to May 6th focus on Acrylics and Mixed Media; May 13th - June 3rd explore chalk pastels. Tina Siddiqui is an award-winning art educator with over 25 years of experience. Specializing in mixed media, drawing and painting, Tina’s work portrays landscape, figurative studies and portraiture. Tina has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions worldwide since 1976 and has made the Okanagan her home for nearly 20 years. Cost is $185 for members and $200 for non-members.
