More on Judy Wasyleshko:

Graduating high school and Okanagan College with honors  in Fine Arts led to a B.F.A. at the University of British Columbia and the winner of the Deans Choice Award in 2011. Hobby or Obsession she continues to research and experiment with new materials, techniques and mediums in her work. Running the film and digital photo labs at U.B.C. focused her work in photography but she still uses other mediums to express her ideas.

In the tranquil hills above Kelowna at Deadpine Studios she works as photographer, painter, sculpture, and designer. Her artwork focuses on nature and mans influence on it. Using human remains, leftovers and even garbage at times to create artworks that catch our attention on the bigger picture. Traveling in the B.C. backcountry Judy uses photos to record the moment to be later be sculpted or painted in the studio. This gives time for the work to mature, change and be reworked, layered until it’s a piece that can talk and tell stories.

MORE ON LYNDA MILLER:

Now retired in Kelowna, British Columbia, Lynda Miller has been working with Photoshop for 12 years.  She is a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals and has attended many professional development workshops, including Image Explorations on Vancouver Island and Jeremy Sutton, a Painter Master in San Francisco.  She enjoys helping others of all ages discover the possibilities of photography, and what is possible with their images using Photoshop CC, Photoshop Elements and Corel Painter.

Using her knowledge combined with the immense versatility of these programs, her favorite projects include:  creating delicate artistic flower images from x-ray film, and blending photographic images together to get an image that speaks to her artistically.

In conjunction with editing photographs, she is actively involved in professional printing, both her own images and others for gallery shows.  The past few years Lynda has been exploring various methods of transferring digital images onto different substrates. She has travelled to Boulder, Colorado twice for workshops from one of the pioneers of digital transfer processes, Bonnie Lhotka.  Since then, she has presented a number of transfer workshops in British Columbia at conferences and clubs.

Lynda served as President of the Central Okanagan Photographic Society in Kelowna for three years. Currently she is serving as the District Rep for the South Interior Pacific Zone of CAPA.  As such she is the liaison between Photo clubs from Kamloops to Osooyos and each year visits them to pass on CAPA news, events and benefits and to gather information from the clubs that might help the Pacific Zone and CAPA better serve every one’s photographic needs.
