TapIn is a drop-in space for Teens offered on a by-donation basis each Friday 3:30pm - 5:30pm Amy Van Dongen Amy leads our TapIn: Creative SafeSpace for Teens and is an Okanagan based artist & art therapist. She hold a Fine Arts Degree from University of Waterloo and a Graduate Diploma from the Kutenai Art Therapy Institute. Amy has 8 years experience creating art with a variety of populations from small children, teens, kids/teens with autism, adults, seniors, adults with diversabilities and Mamas and babies. Amy also leads our Open heArt Adapted Teens programs. After School Drawing club for 11-14 yrs, each Tuesday 3:30pm - 5:30pm with Jane Metzger.
Jane received her undergraduate degree in Visual Arts at Douglas College in 1981, and has taught youth and adult drawing and painting classes in Ontario where she established her own portrait studio. Jane leads our YOUTH DRAW after school drawing club. Each Friday you can work on your own projects with support and guidance from Tina Siddiqui.
Tina is an artist and long-serving instructor who's been teaching painting, drawing and mixed media courses in the Okanagan for nearly 20 years. Trained as a graphic artist, Tina has since exhibited in group and solo shows in the United Kingdom, USA, Canada, Pakistan and Dubai since 1976; and awarded for portraiture and abstract paintings, namely 2003 Open International Portrait Competition in Toronto. Tina teaches our Open Studio Fridays program. Two Classes run each Wednesday with special adaptive equipment - Funded through Canada Post Community Foundations.
Teen Class 10am-11am taught by Amy Van Dongen, an Okanagan based artist and art therapist. Siofra is one of the Art House' resident artists and leads the Open heArt Adapted CONNECT program. Originally from Ireland Siofra exhibited at various galleries in Cork and Galway from 1999 - 2004; and opened her own the Kilroy Studio Gallery from 2004 - 2006. From there, she moved to New York to pursue a Master’s in Art Business at the Sotheby’s Institute of New York and worked at Sotheby’s art auction house as an Archivist in Chinese Antiquities and Southeast Asian art.
