Lake Country Art Gallery – Summer 2026

Join a small, dynamic public art gallery this summer and gain hands-on experience across operations, programs, and community engagement.

Lake Country Art Gallery is seeking a motivated and adaptable student to support administration, communications, and public-facing gallery work in a varied, hands-on role.

About the role: This position offers broad, practical experience in the day-to-day operations of a public art gallery. Working within a small team, you will contribute across administration, communications, public programming, and visitor engagement.
​

Key focus areas include:
  • public programming and community engagement
  • administration and operational support
  • communications, marketing, and digital content
This is a hands-on learning role with mentorship, requiring flexibility, initiative, and strong organizational skills.
​

About You: You are organized, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic public environment. You are confident balancing multiple responsibilities and motivated by learning through experience.
You may be studying in arts, education, business, communications, or a related field—or bring transferable skills suited to a multi-functional community role.
You are comfortable working across three areas:
  • Public Engagement & Programming
    Engaging with visitors and community members, supporting events and workshops, and assisting with children’s summer art camps.
  • Operations & Administration
    Managing emails, scheduling, registrations, records, and day-to-day systems in a small team environment.
  • Communications & Digital Work
    Supporting social media, newsletters, basic marketing materials, and digital content (including website updates and visual documentation).

Key Responsibilities
  • Front-line visitor engagement and gallery hosting
  • Email, scheduling, registration, and administrative support
  • Social media and communications support
  • Marketing and promotional materials
  • Support for public programs, events, and workshops
  • Two-week children’s summer art camp support (ages 7–11)
  • Documentation, feedback collection, and basic reporting
  • Volunteer and operational support as needed

Position Details
  • 12 weeks (mid-June to end of August)
  • 32 hours/week (average; flexible schedule approx. 30–35 hours depending on programming needs)
  • $22/hour
  •  Weekends and occasional evenings required

Eligibility (Canada Summer Jobs)Applicants must:
  • Be 18–30 years old at start of employment
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have protected refugee status
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Be currently enrolled in full-time post-secondary education and returning to studies in Fall 2026
